I have noticed wall cabinetry having a stacked appearance with the handle located horizontally. Is this a practical application, and how does the door open?

The look you are referring to is very practical!! It is designed to maximize storage space and easy access. You may recall that over the past decade hinges on cabinets have become hidden. The hinges on stacked cabinetry are “lift” style hinges. They simply lift up and stay up in the air. This is great for cooks that like to leave doors open while cooking! They are not in the way, and cannot get damaged from bending backwards. The technology in this style hinge is amazing and we have them on display. Come take a look!
